"Sleeping Desire" Chapter four!KA Fic!By Gypsy Luv!Slash M/MTristan/Lancelot, Arthur/Lancelot The ride home doesn't go quite as Tristan had planned! Galahad and Gawain had already had a bit of fun with Tristan, if only a little. They didn't push too far with Tristan. He had turned a bit red and then acted as if to go for his sword and that is when they decided to wait and torture Lancelot instead! No one was ever quite sure how to take Tristan. Some of the time he would laugh and go along, but then just as often he would just as well draw his sword. They neither one wanted to get into it with Tristan! "That man is just too deadly!", Galahad had said to Gawain as they walked away to there mounts. Tristan really had just wanted to make them think that so they wouldn't tease him all day! It was obvious the pair had spent their evening following him and watching him and Lancelot. Just that fact alone made Tristan feel as though he had to prove to them he was as cut throat and cold as always! The scout continued to ready his steed and watched for Lancelot to show himself! He was planning on trying to get some time alone with Lancelot today. He thought maybe he would suggest to Arthur that Lancelot go with him to scout ahead. He was thinking of how he would tease Lancelot and maybe make his move when they stopped to eat lunch. Then finally Lancelot emerged from the tree line! Tristan mounted his horse and started over to him but stopped dead in his tracks when Gawain came up beside Lancelot first. Not wanting to double Gawains pleasure he fell in behind the other knights to take up the rear of the party as they left camp. Once they were on there way Galahad settled in on the other side of Lancelot. It was very clear they were having a raging good time with him from the outrageous laughter coming from Gawain! The three of them were riding right behind Arthur and riding write behind them came Bors and Dag. Tristan knew that they could all hear every word that was being said, though he could not! At one point Bors laughed and turned to look at Tristan. He had an amazed look on his face and went on to laugh out loud again with Dag. Tristan just ducked his head and pretended to ignore them all. Lancelot was use to being podded and teased thanks to his ego were women were concerned, but Tristan was not! He had to think of something to put a stop to this nonsense! And fast! He reared his horse a bit and sped him into a faster pace. He took off past Bors and Dag and came up along side Gawain! He glared over to Gawain and nudged him back with his horse. Galahad took the hint and fell back to ride beside Gawain! But as he did so, he couldn't resist one last goad. "Oh Lancelot here is your hero come to save you once again! Maybe this time he'll have his eyes on the enemy as long as you keep your pants up!" Laughter roared up from everyone behind! Bors nearly fell off his horse. But the fun was cut short. Arthur who had also been listening all along suddenly stopped his horse and whipped around to face his knights! With fire in his eyes he glared at Lancelot and then Tristan. He seemed to be trying to stead his anger for a second and then he finally spoke. "Tristan, I want you to ride ahead the rest of the way back to the wall." "We have been having reports of Woads being in the area for a while now." Tristan nodded his head and released his hawk who had been riding on his arm. "Arthur, maybe Lancelot should ride along as well if they have indeed been spotted, two are more likely to succeed than one if I am to be ambushed." Tristan no more than got the words out of his mouth than Arthur snapped back. "No, Lancelot is to ride by my side, we have things to discuss." Arthur spoke with a bit too much jealousy showing through in his words. Gawain had to choke back a chuckle. Tristan as always obeyed and off he went. Lancelot fell in beside his commander with a sullen look on his face. "Arthur maybe Tristan is right. I know he knows how not to get caught but if they are waiting for him...." "Lancelot those are my orders, are you questioning me?" Arthur could hardly hold his anger or was it jealousy? "No commander." Lancelot said addressing Arthur sarcastically. He knew that always got under Arthur skin, to be addressed as Commander by his knights. He liked to think of himself as their equal. Arthur glared at Lancelot for a moment then realizing how he was acting and tried to calm himself. They rode along in silence for a while. Gawain and Galahad both trying not to laugh out loud at Lancelots pouting expression and Arthurs barely being able to bite back his jealousy! Arthur wanted to say something, but what could he say. He wanted to let Lancelot know he had felt something for him for allot longer than Tristan had, but if he did it now it would just be silly jealousy, wouldn't it? And why didn't he realize earlier that he felt this way. He would just have to keep Lancelot busy once they got back, at least until he could figure out what to do. If he didn't than Tristan would have his way and Arthur knew he would have lost his only chance. Is it not his right to be happy too? He always put himself last and his men first. Maybe for a change he should put himself first. Would that be so wrong? Surely Tristan wasn't serious about Lancelot. He had to be just toying with him. Tristan, as far as he knew, had never been serious about anyone. Sure he took a whore back to his bed chambers, or the hay loft in the stables from time to time. But never had he seen Tristan openly flirting with a fellow knight before. Arthur wondered just what was in Tristans head. Whatever it was, Arthur had to try and put a stop to it. He had waited long enough to let Lancelot know of his feelings for him. He could no longer hold back in fear of rejection. He had never acted on them before in fear of losing his best friend, but it was painfully obvious to him now that he had to do something! Thanks to Tristan! It was gonna be a long day. TBC
